The 2013 Canadian Weblog Awards Winners!

The 2013 Canadian Weblog Awards winners are here!

Over the past year, the 2013 Canadian Weblog Awards saw 492 weblogs nominated across 34 categories. Our 34 volunteer jurors worked hard over the course of this November and December using our 10 criteria to judge each of the 492 weblogs in the first round and each of the approximately 170 weblogs in the second round to arrive at our winners.

Each of our jurors stepped forward to volunteer hours of their time and energy to make these awards possible. We quite simply could not exist without them and their dedication to fostering quality in the Canadian blogging community. All of this is thanks to them, and I am honoured by their involvement. Thank you!

And now it's time! We are excited to announce the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in the 2013 Canadian Weblog Awards!

Dear Elan and Team,
I am deeply honoured by this recognition and have already posted the badges proudly on my site. To be recognized by my peers is the highest honour I could ever imagine. I was actually flabbergasted that I was on the top 5 list with the significant body of work from Canadian Food Blogs. To be awarded second this year is such a thrill. And, then, to be awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award almost leaves me speechless.
Deepest appreciation and thank you for celebrating my labour of love.

Thank you to Elan and the jurors for this great honour. This is the 3rd year I've won awards here. I am still in shock. I thought for sure other veteran blogs would've taken it over mine... so thank you for thoughtfully selecting my blog, it's the highest compliment I could receive... it will only motivate me to do better next year. Happy holidays everyone!

To all the winners congratulations, my blog www.Sonicorp.ca was nominated in two categories but only made the top 5 for one. The one category I was in I did not win it. There is always next year, I will be entering again!

Thank you Elan and all the volunteers for the hard work you've put into making this event possible. It was an honour to be mentioned alongside all of these thoughtful and passionate bloggers. This has also given me a chance to connect with other Canadians with a broad range of interests, so I thank you for this opportunity.

I'm so honoured and humbled to have earned the Silver under Topical. Never did I think my blog about something as specific as compulsive hoarding would attract the attention of judges. I'm delighted to be in such great company of some amazing Canadian blogs, and I'm inspired to keep writing!
