Raymi should be disqualified for comments like this on Twitter...

gah it's close http://www.canadianweblogawards.com/2010/12/vote-for-your-favourite-weblog-in.html that blog is a snore too thats beating me

You are overreacting. She's entitled to an opinion and to voice that opinion, especially when it is neither hate speech nor libellous.

December 21, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterSchmutzie

Its always the jealous Anon haters who leave comments like that!

December 22, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterTK Kerouac

Raymi's mentally ill mother and her nonstop posting everywhere about so-called "jealous haters" is really scary. Like the first commenter, I don't understand why any site or poll would include the Raymi page since it's nothing but bad energy, delusion, vicious vitriol, and ugliness (in literally every way), and basically just the crazy mother and daughter leaving the comments under various names and repeatedly voting in contests like this.

December 26, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterAmes

Again, another Anon Ames
This contest shouldn't allow comments from the ugliness of hater trolls, especially when they hide behind a PC posting without revealing who they are.
They are abusive, mentally ill people who are cowardly , frightened to show face.
its up to the these contest organizers to filter out what happens in these contests. It really isn't fair to the contestants who have worked hard to get to achieve what they have.

it's people's choice. i think that if people enjoy reading blogs to actually engage in thoughtful discussion, that makes a lot more sense than just jumping on the self-glorification bandwagon in droves. blind worship of a persona. which one is better? who cares? if you win, you win what?
a voting contest? lame. a campaign? it would be nicer to graciously receive an award which has been given to you without having to connive and beg. that's all.

December 26, 2010 | Unregistered Commenterworld

Choosing one bloggers writing style over another is a choice.
But ts the ugly comments like yours" world "who bash and connive behind a desk for abusive attention seeking purposes who should be banned.
And it really should be in the hands of the awards promoters
Because there will always be hater trolls such as yourself who should be monitored for their destructive negativity.

December 26, 2010 | Unregistered Commentertkkerouac

the ugly comments seem to be coming from all over actually. I believe Raymi called the other blogger who seems to be beating her "boring" among other things. Also unknown. Well, to her readers she isn't unknown, Raymi is. And as far as cheating, asking people to vote as much as possible from any IP they can seems a form of cheating to me, since each person is entitled to ONE vote.

SO COME ON PEOPLE. The classy thing would be to mention that you were in the contest, put a link up ONCE to the page, and let it go. It's not an Oscar, or even a potato sack race with a free ice cream cone at the end, sheesh and SIGH. Providing any sort of negative opinion on the other contenders is crass, classless and deeply unlikeable.

December 26, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterAdelaide

HEY PEOPLE - If you don't like a particular candidate, don't vote for him or her. Simple as that. Leaving comments about them here won't make any difference, beyond making this site a less pleasant place to visit. So cut it out.

December 26, 2010 | Unregistered Commenterpalinode

UPDATE: From here on out, negative comments about candidates are simply getting deleted. No ifs, ands or buts.

December 26, 2010 | Unregistered Commenterpalinode

Both bloggers had made a comments and the blogger wanted access to her facebook.
Voting from different IP addresses will put another unknown blogger on the map but won't necessarily keep them popular.
Raymi doesn't need to cheat with numerous people voting from various IP addresses which is obviously happening and its unfortunate and unfair.
She has enough established readers from her ten years of blogging and deserves the accolades.

And if Negative comments are being deleted, it should start right here with these anon comments being left by abusive hating trolls.

I contemplated erasing this entire e-mail thread, but I have decided to leave it as a shining example of what will no longer be tolerated here at the Canadian Weblog Awards. We are about celebrating Canadian blogging, not denigrating each other.

Peace and love, my friends. Peace and love.
